The ADCH are looking for an Honorary Treasurer to oversee all financial aspects of the Association and join the Board of Trustees in making a positive impact on animal welfare across the UK and Ireland for cats and dogs.

ADCH carries out an Annual Return activity in the first quarter of each year.

The ADCH central team and Board of Trustees have returned from our final in-person meeting of 2023.

ADCH awards £164,265 Emergency Cost-of-Living Grants to animal rescue organisations caring for over 1,300 animals in need and has found in their national survey of 170 animal rescue and rehoming organisations that 73% expect to struggle to make ends meet, while 97% expect to see a greater demand for their services.

We are delighted to introduce our new Executive Director, Rebecca Cooper, who brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to ADCH from her extensive experience in the charitable sector. Throughout her 18-year career, Rebecca has dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of others, particularly in the areas of children’s health and bereavement support.

Cat’s Protection’s new research survey to develop wellbeing tools for shelter cats, gives an opportunity for volunteers or staff (aged 18+) that regularly care for cats on behalf of a charity/organisation, to be part of the project and its research.

Yesterday, the ADCH Board of Trustees and Central team visited Birmingham Dogs Home to work on developing our new strategy for 2024!

A huge thank you to the staff at  Cheltenham Animal Shelter for accommodating our staff team day last week. Despite their busy schedules, they took time to speak with us and take us for a tour around their amazing shelter!
