Will I receive a registration form after purchasing my ticket?

Yes, delegates who have registered and paid for their ticket, and provided their contact details, will be sent a registration form.

What is the QR code for, and how do I use it?

Once you complete your delegate registration form, you will receive a personal QR code. This code is required for scanning at our registration kiosks upon arrival to collect your badge. Please keep it safe, as it cannot be used for anything else. If you have the QR code on your phone, there’s no need to print a copy. Just have it ready when registering to ensure a smooth and efficient check-in process for everyone.

Can I share my ticket with someone else if I can only attend one day?

No, tickets cannot be shared. Each delegate must purchase their own ticket to attend the event. A single ticket grants access to both days and is intended for use by one person only.

Can dogs and cats attend?

As an Association dedicated to dogs and cats, we completely understand how much they mean to all of us. The venue, however, is a pet-free environment, offering delegates the opportunity to step away from their usual work surroundings to learn, socialise, and network – all for the benefit of dogs and cats. Of course, trained assistance and guide dogs are always welcome. We truly appreciate your understanding.

What is the pre-conference event?

For those arriving the night before the conference, the pre-conference event is a great opportunity to unwind and chat with other delegates over a drink. The event will take place on Wednesday evening, 7 May, from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. It’s an informal social gathering that provides a relaxed space to meet fellow attendees and begin making connections ahead of the main conference. You’re welcome to drop in at any time during the evening.

There is no cost to attend, and drinks will be available for purchase from the bar (card payment only). While no food will be provided at the venue, there are plenty of nearby restaurants for those who wish to grab a bite before or after the event. See visit Telford for more details.

On your registration form, you’ll be asked if you plan on attending, which will help us get an idea of numbers.

Can I cancel my ticket and receive a refund?

Yes, you can cancel your ticket, but the refund amount depends on when you make the cancellation:

Before 31 March: You will receive a full refund.

Between 1 April and 10 days before the event: You will receive a 50% refund.

Within 10 days of the event: Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued.

If you need to cancel your ticket, please contact us at events@adch.org.uk as soon as possible.

During the Event

What should I wear to the conference, is there a dress code?

We believe in creating a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. There’s no formal dress code for the conference or pre-conference events, so feel free to dress in a manner that reflects your personal style and comfort. Whether it’s branded workwear, business attire, or casual jeans, you’ll fit right in.
However, for the Petplan & ADCH Animal Charity Awards, we invite you to embrace the occasion and celebrate in style. Cocktail attire is recommended for this celebratory event.

I'm a first-time attendee. Who can I contact if I need help?

If this is your first ADCH Conference and you have questions or would like guidance on what to expect, we’re here to help. Email events@adch.org.uk with your contact number, and a member of our team will be delighted to provide any information you may need.

Will there be photography and videography during the event?

Photographs and videos of the sessions, social events, and exhibition areas will be taken throughout the conference. These images and videos are important in helping us, as a small charity, promote the work of ADCH. They will be used on the ADCH website, social media platforms, and other marketing materials.
If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform a member of ADCH staff or email us at events@adch.org.uk.

Is there baggage storage at the event?

Bags, luggage, and other personal items can be stored in the cloakroom on the ground floor. The cloakroom is unsupervised, so any items will be left at your own risk. Please do not leave bags or other personal items unattended in any of the session halls.

Can I keep my mobile phone on?

As a courtesy to speakers and other delegates, all mobile phones and electronic devices should be switched to silent mode before entering sessions. If you need to take a call at any time, we kindly ask that you step away from the room, ensuring not to disturb any sessions.

Who will be available to assist me at the event?

We have a small team of five ADCH staff members, along with trustees and a number of volunteers, all of whom will be on hand to offer support during the event.

You can view the full list of our staff and Trustees here.

Will lunch and refreshments be provided?

Yes, tea, coffee, lunch, and refreshments are kindly sponsored by AVID MicroChips & PETtrac Database.
All lunch and refreshments will be served during the official breaks in Hall 3, which is located next to the exhibition area on the ground floor.

A warm lunch will be served on Day One, and a grab-and-go option will be available on Day Two.

For those attending the Petplan and ADCH Awards, dinner and table wine is provided. Additional drinks are available for purchase at the bar.
You will be asked your dietary requirements on the delegate registration form.

Is there anywhere on site to purchase additional refreshments?

Refreshments can also be purchased from the Costa café, which is located on the ground floor.

(Subject to opening times determined by the venue)

Can I also attend the Petplan & ADCH Animal Charity Awards evening?

The Petplan & ADCH Animal Charity Awards evening is a valued part of the conference experience, made possible thanks to the generous support of Petplan. We are incredibly grateful for their continued support, which ensures this celebration can take place as part of the conference.
If you have purchased a Conference Delegate Ticket this grants access to both days of the conference and The Petplan & ADCH Animal Charity Awards evening.
Please confirm your attendance on the delegate registration form to help us reduce food waste and make the most of the generous support for the event, ensuring charitable resources are used effectively

What measures are in place for accessibility and inclusion?

We are committed to making the event as accessible and welcoming as possible. A wellbeing space will be available for those who need to take time out. There is a lift available for moving between floors. We have also requested subtitles for all speaker videos and larger font sizes for presentations.
Telford International Centre prides itself on being an accessible venue for everyone. To view their accessibility policy, please click here.
If there’s anything else we can do to support your access or comfort, please let us know on your registration form, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Is smoking allowed at the venue?

Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is not permitted anywhere within Telford International Centre. Outdoor designated smoking areas are clearly signposted.

Will lanyards be provided at the event?

Lanyards will be provided upon registration. All participants are required to wear their lanyard when attending sessions and when entering the exhibition area. If you lose your lanyard, please email us at events@adch.org.uk.

What is the sustainability initiative at the conference?

In partnership with our Sustainability Sponsor, Byotrol, we are implementing several changes this year to reduce waste and improve sustainability.

Key Changes:
• Event Programme: Instead of automatically printing event programmes, we will share them digitally via our event app. Printed copies will be available upon request.
• Lunch Options: All conference lunches will be vegetarian or vegan by default, with a meat option available upon request.
• Reducing Food Waste: You can opt out of lunch on either day if you do not require it.
• Delegate Bags: Made from 4 recycled plastic bottles, our delegate bags are 100% recycled and fully recyclable. Any bags returned or not used at the end of the conference will be available for members to take on the day for reuse in their charity shops.
• Lanyards: As always, lanyards can be returned at the end of the conference for further use.
Also, our venue Telford International Conference has a sustainability policy which they follow to ensure they reduce, reuse and recycle the waste produced during events at their venues.

What is your code of behaviour?

The Code of Behaviour sets out the expected conduct for all attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and organisers at ADCH events. It applies to ensure a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for everyone. Read the code here.
