Welcome to ADCH’s Newest Member – The Cat Welfare Group

We’re excited to welcome The Cat Welfare Group to the ADCH community as our newest Full Member.

The Cat Welfare Group based in Whiteley, predominantly provides assistance to cats and kittens who are injured or require specialist veterinary treatments. Veterinary practices across Hampshire regularly contact the organisation when they have cats or kittens in need of surgery, costly treatments, or tests.

They take in elderly strays and provide ongoing financial support for their pre-existing medical conditions rather than opting for euthanasia solely due to age, believing that every life matters, no matter how long that may be. In addition, they offer neutering assistance for those unable to afford veterinary costs, as well as education on the benefits of neutering.

The Cat Welfare Group’s Lost & Found Facebook page is a valuable resource for identifying and reuniting missing cats with their owners, recently helping to reunite a cat with its owner after three years. The organisation also responds to multiple calls and messages daily, offering help and advice via phone, email, and Facebook Messenger.

They attend reports of stray cats, scanning them for microchips and collaring them with their details if unchipped, ensuring they are either returned to their owner or rehomed.

When asked about their reason for deciding to apply for ADCH Membership, Finance Director Tracy Howe, shared:

“We wanted to be a part of a recognised and highly valued welfare organisation.”

Following their successful admission to Full Membership, after undergoing an external assessment against our Minimum Welfare and Operational Standards, Tracy added:

“We are absolutely thrilled to be welcomed into the ADCH family and hope to share and learn best practice across the rescue/welfare charity sector. We are already incredibly proud to be one of Battersea’s Animal Partners and see joining the ADCH team as the next step in our journey.”
