Join our cause and become a valued volunteer!
At Felines 1st, a rapidly growing charity, we are in urgent need of passionate individuals like you to make a real difference in the lives of our feline friends. Many of these cats have fallen on hard times and are in desperate need of our help. With your support, we can provide them with the care and love they deserve.
We have identified important key volunteer roles that are crucial to our charity’s success:
Treasurer:
Do you love numbers and have a keen eye for detail? The treasurer plays a crucial role in the financial management and oversight of a charity. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and effective management of the organization’s finances, while maintaining transparency and accountability.
Fundraisers:
If you have a talent for fundraising or enjoy participating in events like car-boot sales, we would greatly appreciate your assistance. Help us sell items at our regular events, both offline and online, and contribute to raising vital funds for the welfare of our cats. Additionally, we need support in collecting and sorting donated items for resale.
Pen maintenance:
Do you possess DIY skills, experience in building, woodworking, or repairing? We require individuals like you to help with the construction and upkeep of our cat pens. By lending a hand in maintaining our facilities, you’ll ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our feline residents.
Fosterers:
If you have a garden with space for a cat pen, consider becoming an outdoor fosterer. Alternatively, if you don’t have pets of your own, you can offer indoor fostering. Both types of fostering are incredibly rewarding and provide cats with temporary homes until they find their forever families.
Home checkers:
Are you willing to conduct home visits to potential adopters? Your role as a home checker is vital in determining if a household is suitable for a cat and providing guidance on making homes cat-friendly. We also need individuals who can conduct follow-up checks approximately 4-6 weeks after a cat has been rehomed. Checks can be either conducted remotely via video chat or the home can be visited in person.
Website content and publicity:
If you have a talent for writing captivating stories and a deep understanding of cats, we need your skills in crafting engaging content for our website. Help us spread the word about Felines 1st and our mission to improve the lives of these wonderful creatures. Your attention to detail will be invaluable in maintaining an informative and appealing online presence.
By volunteering with Felines 1st, you’ll be part of a compassionate community dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable cats. Join us today and let’s create a brighter future for our furry friends!
