ADCH Membership and Affiliation

ADCH Membership and Affiliation

At ADCH, we offer three ways that not for profit organisations can get involved; to become a Full Member, Solidarity Member or to be an Affiliate of ADCH.

All provide valuable benefits and opportunities for animal welfare organisations, but they differ in terms of involvement, responsibilities, and access to certain resources.

Member And Affiliate Comparison

Membership is intended for rescue organisations actively involved in care and rehoming, while Affiliation offers a way for those who support the sector to stay connected and contribute.

Full Membership, Solidarity Membership and Affiliation provide unique ways to be part of ADCH’s mission to improve the lives of dogs and cats in rescue environments.

Full Membership

Full Members are animal welfare organisations that have undergone a thorough assessment process and have demonstrated that they meet the ADCH Minimum Welfare and Operational Standards. Full Membership is open to organisations that provide direct rescue, care, and rehoming services for dogs and/or cats.

See our current Full Members here.

Key Benefits of Full Membership:

  • Voting rights: Full Members can vote on ADCH constitutional matters, giving them a say in the future direction of the association.
  • Use of ADCH logo: Full Members can use an official ADCH logo on their website and promotional materials, showcasing their commitment to welfare standards.
  • Access to grants: Full Members may be eligible to apply for certain ADCH-specific grants and funding opportunities.
  • Access to resources: Full Members can access ADCH’s library of resources, including educational materials, toolkits, and best practices.
  • Keep informed: With our monthly newsletter, The Scoop. Stay informed with important news from the sector and your peers.
  • Exclusive discounts: Full Members can benefit from supplier discounts, giveaways, and exclusive promotions through ADCH partners.
  • Networking and training: Full Members have access to ADCH events, conferences (at a discounted rate), and training sessions, as well as the ability to join our member-only Facebook group for collaboration and information-sharing. We also run a regular wellbeing group for staff and volunteers working in our Member organisations.

Solidarity Membership

Solidarity Members are ADCH Full Members who play a key role in supporting and enhancing our collective efforts, fostering collaboration within the ADCH community, and helping to advance the welfare of dogs and cats across the sector.

You can see our Solidarity Members here.

Why Solidarity Membership?

Solidarity Membership builds on the existing support many organisations already provide to ADCH, including sponsoring our annual conference. In addition, Solidarity Members may also contribute by helping to deliver events, providing resources that benefit members, and volunteering their time and expertise to support ADCH initiatives.

This membership is not a replacement for any existing membership but an opportunity for organisations to deepen their involvement. By securing essential resources, Solidarity Members help ADCH continue uniting the sector, ensuring we can provide valuable services and opportunities for all members, regardless of their size.

Who Can Become a Solidarity Member?

We’ve initially invited Band A members to explore this model, as many have historically supported ADCH and the conference with significant sponsorship. However, we would be more than happy to discuss this option with any ADCH Full Member that may be interested.

What is the Membership Fee?

Starting at £20,000, the fee for Solidarity Membership plays a vital role in ensuring ADCH remains accessible and beneficial to all members. For example, the sponsorship provided by our Solidarity Members helps to subsidise the annual conference, keeping it affordable for all members.

Solidarity Members enjoy all the benefits of full membership, along with conference sponsorship, which provide opportunities for increased visibility and sector engagement.

What does Solidarity Membership offer?

  • Supporting ADCH and the Sector Solidarity Members help sustain and strengthen our efforts, enabling us to provide essential resources, guidance, and advocate on behalf of our members.
  • Supporting Welfare Standards By sharing knowledge, expertise and resources, Solidarity Members support ADCH Minimum Welfare and Operational Standards, that collectively enhances animal welfare within the sector.
  • Amplifying Impact and Extended Reach Through collaboration we can expand reach and impact, helping more animals in need.
  • Strengthen Relationships By working together, we develop and strengthen relationships, collectively raising awareness of the importance of dog and cat rescue as a cause to support.
