Here at Battersea, our Cattery Team is responsible for delivering the highest standards of animal welfare and care for every cat in their journey through Battersea, from a calm and compassionate intake, to providing feline friendly care whilst they are onsite, and to rehoming them to loving new homes.
We are seeking a new Rehoming & Welfare Coordinator to join our Brands Hatch team, to provide exceptional standards of welfare for the cats in our care, as well as to provide exceptional customer service within our intake and rehoming remits to effectively coordinate the smooth and expeditious journey of cats through Battersea. This is a very meaningful role where you will work directly with the cats, impacting their lives.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone with experience of working with cats, strong customer service skills, and experience of dealing with sensitive issues with empathy and resilience.
Please note that this is a fixed term (14-month) opportunity and is based at our Brands Hatch centre.

Working with our dogs and cats:
We are here for every dog and cat. Within our operational roles, this means providing the highest level of care and husbandry to our animals. Every day will be different and will sometimes involve emotionally challenging situations. Battersea has created an ethos of open conversations and carefully curated wellbeing initiatives to support our employees handling these scenarios. It is also important to note that the role is very physical and does involve a lot of manual tasks which are required to provide the exceptional standards of care to our animals. We ask you consider these aspects of the role carefully before applying.
Diversity and inclusion:
At Battersea, we are committed to developing and supporting a diverse workforce and inclusive culture in all aspects of our organisation. We aim to ensure that this pledge, reinforced by our values, is embedded in our day-to-day working practices and our work together.
By hearing from and valuing different experiences, perspectives, and contributions, we know we can provide the best expert care for every dog and cat who needs us. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, particularly those from diverse ethnic communities and people with disabilities, who we know are currently underrepresented in our workforce.
As a Disability Confident Committed Employer we will ask about any adjustments you may need at application and/or interview stage, and if you are offered a role with us, we’ll talk to you about any workplace adjustments you may need to help you perform at your best. If you would like to talk more about this, please contact [email protected] or call us on 020 3887 8341.
More about us:
