HSI Grant

Humane Society International (HSI) have kindly donated £4,500 to be distributed to ADCH members. It will be distributed as small grants to members who are facing short-term financial difficulties, prioritising members in parts of the country where demand for rescue/rehoming services are high and heavily dependent on those members and require funding to help them meet and retain ADCH Minimum Welfare and Minimum Standards.

Eligibility will be limited to ADCH members with income below £100k, to capture those rescues to whom an award of grant monies would have a significant impact. As part of the application, we will ask the applicant to demonstrate the need for their services in the areas they serve.   Only those who have paid their membership fees in full for 2024 are eligible to apply. In the event that many applications are received, the organisation’s reserves level will be taken into consideration. This information will be requested as part of the application.

We anticipate applications for amounts in the range of a few hundred pounds, however we are open to considering fewer, larger grants where members can clearly illustrate need and financial requirements.

Key Dates

  • Open for applications – 29 February 2024
  • Deadline for application – 31 March 2024
  • Outcome known – Week commencing 22 April 2024 onwards
  • Payment – 30 April 2023

  • Rescues with less than 3 months in reserves
  • Rescues with more than 3 months of reserves but excluding charities where they can demonstrate reserves are in an investment portfolio and liquidating them would have significant costs associated or result in significant loss of value)
