The basis of admittance to ADCH Membership is adherence to our Minimum Welfare and Operational Standards, membership is granted after a visit to your rescue has been carried out by ADCH volunteers, who will carry out an assessment against relevant standards.
ADCH’s Minimum Standards are agreed by existing members to:
• Safeguard animal welfare
• Benefit the rescue’s reputation
• Improve and maintain good practice in animal welfare
• Assist in preparing for licencing of our sector, and run concurrent to existing legislation in jurisdictions where it is applicable
• Be proportionate and realistically achievable.
The important next step for your organisation is to read and understand these standards, and think about how they are met within your organisation. To apply for membership you will be asked about any areas that may not currently be met – ADCH wishes to support rescues wherever possible to meet all standards so that we can admit you to membership.
