‘Cost of living’ crisis support for pet owners

People are already starting to see the effects of the ‘cost of living’ crisis, and with prices soaring, humans and animals alike are beginning to feel the effects.

When it comes to choosing between heating your home or feeding your pet, decisions can be really tough.

We have gathered together tools and resources shared by our ADCH members to support pet owners and their pets during this tough time.

 

Pet food

  • The RSPCA has a variety of cat and dog food banks across England and Wales.

  • Blue Cross has a variety of cat and dog food banks across England and Wales.

  • Dogs Trust have set up some temporary dog food banks across England and Scotland.

  • BARK in Northumberland have set up a pet food bank.

  • Stafford Food Bank have set up a pet food bank.

  • For a pet food bank in South Wales, there is Pet Food Bank Service.

Neutering

  • For support with neutering your cat, Cats Protection have financial assistance schemes.

  • For support with neutering your cat or dog, some RSPCA branches offer vouchers towards part of the cost.

  • For support with cat neutering and microchipping, Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary offer low cost services in Liverpool.
