ADCH is an umbrella membership organisation and as such we don’t rehome animals ourselves. However, we are passionate about promoting the benefits of adopting.
There are huge advantages to adopting an animal – not least that you could be giving an animal a fantastic second chance in life. The process can of course be less immediate and it may require more patience, but it can be hugely rewarding in the long-term.
Adopting also means giving dogs and cats of different breeds, or at an older age, a chance. For many potential owners this can present an opportunity to go on a journey with and to form an unbreakable bond.
Member organisations of ADCH work towards meeting and maintaining our Minimum Welfare and Operational Standards, to ensure that animals in their care have their welfare needs met, until a new loving home is found for them. You can find your nearest ADCH member here.
Rehoming organisations have their own processes to rehome animals, and each charity will be able to tell you how they work, which may also vary by an individual animal’s needs.
