ADCH Welcomes New Trustees Following 2026 Board Elections
The Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) recently held elections for three positions on its Board of Trustees. The results were announced at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 14 July by ADCH Honorary Secretary Mike Webb.
This year’s election attracted 13 nominations from members for the three available Trustee positions, reflecting the continued commitment of members to supporting the governance and future direction of the Association.
We are delighted to confirm the re-election of Linda Cantle, who will continue to serve as an ADCH Trustee. Since joining the Board in 2023, Linda has made a valued contribution to the organisation, and we congratulate her on her re-election.
We are also pleased to welcome two newly elected Trustees: Kate Lee and Vanessa Waddon.
Kate, Founder and Trustee of Senior Staffy Club Dog Rescue, brings extensive experience in rescue operations, governance and organisational development. With a background in policing, law and training, Kate is passionate about supporting rescue organisations and promoting high standards across the sector.
Vanessa, Founder and Chief Executive of Hope Rescue, brings a wealth of experience in rescue leadership, governance and animal welfare advocacy. Many members will already know Vanessa through her long-standing involvement with ADCH, and we look forward to the insight, experience and collaborative approach she will bring to the Board.
Special recognition was also given to outgoing Trustees Charlotte Fielder and Mike Elliott, who were both thanked for their valuable contributions during their time on the Board. Charlotte concluded her three-year term, having been a passionate ambassador for ADCH and a strong advocate for members and volunteers. Mike retired after seven years of dedicated service, including the last three years as Chair of the Governance Committee, where he played a significant role in strengthening ADCH’s governance and supporting the organisation through an important period of development. Their commitment, expertise and dedication have been greatly appreciated.
The Board also welcomed Beth Verrechia, who has been appointed as the new Chair of the Governance Committee. Beth has been a valued member of the committee for the past two years and brings extensive expertise in leadership, governance and people management through her role as Director of People & People Services at Blue Cross. To support continuity in this important role, Beth has been co-opted onto the Board in line with ADCH’s governance arrangements.
Finally, the Board expressed its sincere thanks to every member who voted in this year’s election, as well as to all candidates who stood for election. The willingness of members to contribute their time, expertise and experience plays an important role in ensuring strong governance and supporting the continued success of ADCH.
The Board also thanked Shakespeare Martineau LLP for acting as independent scrutineers of the election, helping to ensure a fair, transparent and robust election process.
