Wellbeing Wednesday: Supporting Shelter Staff and Volunteers
As part of the recent open meeting at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront, we were pleased to host a wellbeing session focused on the emotional wellbeing of shelter staff and volunteers.
Tamsin Durston, Veterinary Nurse, Clinical Animal Behaviourist, and author of Emotional Well-being for Animal Welfare Professionals, led the session.
Tamsin shared human behaviour models that can help professionals manage the emotional demands of their work, offering practical tools to support mental resilience and reduce burnout, ensuring the long-term wellbeing of those working in animal welfare.
We also want to remind everyone about our ongoing Weekly Wednesday Wellbeing Sessions, delivered by ADCH Wellbeing Volunteer Gary Fielder.
These sessions take place every Wednesday, alternating between 10:30 AM and 7:00 PM and are free for staff and Volunteers of member organisations to attended.
