The ADCH Conference 2024: A Resounding Success!

The ADCH Conference 2024 proved to be an outstanding success, drawing a record-breaking attendance of over 550 delegates to the Telford International Centre from 14th to 15th May. Members attended from all eight ADCH jurisdictions, with some delegates travelling from as far as the USA.

The event kicked off with an energetic pre-conference evening hosted by Trustee Steve Byrne, setting a dynamic tone for the following two days. Chair, Giles Webber and Executive Director, Rebecca Cooper, warmly welcomed attendees, expressing appreciation for the overwhelming support that resulted in a sold-out event and a waiting list.

Over two packed days, the conference featured 40 speakers across 25 sessions covering a broad spectrum of topics, from best practices in animal care to behavioural insights and regulatory updates, igniting fresh ideas and fostering collaborations among participants.

A standout moment of the conference was the Petplan & ADCH Animal Charity Awards 2024, honouring the exceptional dedication and achievements of individuals and teams within our sector. The evening was filled with celebration, networking, and joyous cheer. Special congratulations were extended to Leicester Animal Aid for winning Team of the Year and to Tracy Millington from JSPCA Animals’ Shelter for being named Employee of the Year, recognising their outstanding contributions to animal welfare.

The bustling exhibition area provided ample networking opportunities, where industry leaders and specialists gathered to showcase products, exchange insights, and share expertise.

Reflecting on the success of the conference, Executive Director, Rebecca Cooper, commented, “Attending my first ADCH Conference has been a wonderful and inspiring experience. Witnessing such dedication and passion among our attendees, reaffirms our collective commitment to advancing the welfare of dogs and cats”

We extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors—Petplan, Battersea, Cats Protection, Dogs Trust, RSPCA, Woodgreen Pets Charity, Birmingham Dogs Home, Mars Petcare, Pets Foundation and Royal Canin for their invaluable support and contributions.
