RSPCA

The RSPCA provides investigation services in England and Wales to complaints on animal cruelty and suffering.

The RSPCA is the world’s oldest and largest animal welfare organisation.

We focus on rescuing, treating and rehoming animals rescued by our inspectors, undertaking 85% of enforcement activity under the Animal Welfare Act investigating cruelty and suffering in England and Wales. We run over 50 clinics, shelters and hospitals.

In the last year the RSPCA investigated over 61,000 cruelty complaints and took in over 20,000 cats and 8,000 dogs across our branches and national network. In the last two years we have seen a large increase in the numbers of abandoned and neglected cats and dogs entering our care and a rise in the number of multi animal households that have to investigated. This is undoubtedly linked to the cost of living crisis pressures on cat and dog owners.
