Mars Global Adoption Weekend 2025: Spotlight on Animals Looking for Homes at ADCH Member Organisations

This weekend (3rd–5th October) is Mars Global Adoption Weekend, encouraging people across the UK to consider adopting a pet.

Mars is teaming up with the leading mental health company Calm to celebrate its second annual Global Adoption Weekend and show how adopting a shelter pet can change two lives – both the pet’s and the owners.

To support the initiative, ADCH Members were invited to share profiles of animals in their care. With an estimated 12 million dogs and 4 million cats living in shelters around the world, waiting to meet their forever families, Global Adoption Weekend offers an opportunity to shine a light on animals who may have been at the rescue for a long time, or who need a special kind of home or owner.

The initiative is receiving global coverage, with media outlets encouraging people to consider adopting a pet. ADCH is delighted that some of the animals in the care of our Members are being featured in the press, including:

Leicester Animal Aid

  • Hercules (Domestic Shorthair Cat)
  • Cruz (German Shepherd cross Rottweiler)
  •
    Raystede

  • Duchess (Pomeranian)
  • Claude (Domestic Shorthair Cat)
  •
    Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home

  • Bella (French Bulldog x Belgian Malinois)
