Volunteering and Community Fundraising Manager
Role Purpose:
You will be responsible for Community, Events and local Corporate fundraising at Jerry Green Dog Rescue, setting the ongoing strategy and targets for income growth aligned with the Fundraising and Organisational Strategy. You will also lead the Volunteering strategy for across the organisation, and play an active role in the management team for the charity.

Key Outputs & Tasks:
Community Fundraising
– Develop and define the Community Fundraising strategy in alignment with the Fundraising and Organisational strategies, with responsibility for Community, Corporate, Third Party and Virtual Product income streams.
– Be accountable for income targets and KPIs for your team, and responsible for agreeing monthly and annual targets with reporting and implementing mitigation plans when necessary.
– Lead on implementing excellent stewardship journeys and supporter experience for individuals, groups and corporate supporters to drive average gift and retention.
– Manage relationships with Third Party providers to support your plans for income growth, including Give Panel and Run for Charity.
– Be accountable for developing use of our CRM, Donorflex, for you and your team to support with reporting and gathering insights for effective decision making.
– Lead on the development of our virtual product offering; building on the current success of 60 Miles in May and a new product to be developed in 2026.
– Keep up to date with sector trends and developments in community and regional fundraising.
– Act as a champion for fundraising compliance across the organisation, ensuring adherence to relevant legislative requirements.
Volunteering
– Develop and define the Volunteering strategy in alignment with the Organisational strategy, supporting all areas of the charity.
– Be accountable for agreeing and monitoring the volunteering budget and KPIs, with monthly reporting and implementing mitigation plans when necessary.
– Lead on volunteer recruitment for all areas of the organisation, in particular, our ambitious plans for growth within Retail.
– Lead on excellent volunteer experience through all stages; recruitment, induction, training and reward & recognition.
– Be accountable for developing use of our CRM, Volunteero, for you and your team to support with volunteer management, reporting, and gathering insights for effective decision making.
– Keep up to date with sector trends and developments in volunteering.
– Act as a champion for volunteering compliance across the organisation, ensuring adherence to relevant legislative requirements.
Team and leadership
– Provide effective line management for your team, inspiring and motivating them to achieve their objectives.
– Take a coaching approach to your line management, instilling a culture of trust and innovation in your team.
– Develop and agree personalised development plans for each of your team.
– Play an active role in the ‘Leads’ team of the organisation to drive our organisational strategy.
– Work collaboratively across the organisation and live our values in your day-to-day work.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
• Proven experience within either Community, Events or Corporate fundraising with a track record of achieving or exceeding income targets.
• Proven experience of working with Volunteers and a strong understanding of volunteer management and growing a volunteer network.
• Comfortable with motivating and inspiring a team remotely, and driving performance against targets to produce results.
• Experience in planning, monitoring and being accountable for budgets.
• A self-motivated, inspiring and target-driven individual who is able to hit the ground running.
• A supportive colleague who is able to work collaboratively and influence effectively to achieve outcomes.
• Familiar with sector trends in community fundraising and volunteering.
• Confident in managing multiple competing priorities.
• A willingness to travel across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire to support your team, attend face-to-face meetings, and visit our centres and shops as required.
