Celebrating 40 Years of ADCH: K9focus Reflects on Their Journey
As ADCH celebrates its 40th anniversary, Lynne Hall, a trustee at K9focus, shares her reflections on the lasting connections and collaborative spirit she has experienced as an ADCH member.

When Lynne and fellow K9focus trustee Clare attended their first ADCH conference in 2015, they were new to both the event and the wider ADCH community. Little did they know that this experience would become a turning point, helping them forge valuable relationships with other rescue organisations that have remained strong ever since. Over the years, K9focus has connected with a variety of partners, from Battersea to Dogs Trust to Blue Cross, all united by the common goal of improving the lives of animals.
One of Lynne’s most memorable moments was winning the Animal Charity Team of the Year award at the Petplan & ADCH Animal Charity Awards in 2015 and celebrating this achievement with her team.
The spirit of collaboration that ADCH fosters has been central to K9focus’s work. They have built a long-term relationship with Dogs Trust, attended training with Battersea, becoming one of their partnered rescues, and more recently exchanged ideas and support with Blue Cross. These partnerships have helped K9focus extend its reach and continue its vital work, particularly from their remote location in North Devon.
“It’s all about working together for the benefit of the animals we care for,” Lynne shared, summing up the ethos of ADCH membership. “We’re all in this for the same reason, and being part of ADCH has given us the opportunity to collaborate. The relationships we’ve built through ADCH membership over the years have been invaluable.”
As she looks forward to this year’s conference, 10 years after attending her first, Lynne is excited to continue her journey with ADCH.
“We can’t wait to see what this year holds, and we’re excited to keep working together to make a difference for animals,” she added.
