ADCH Board Update: Honorary Treasurer
The ADCH Board has announced a change in its Treasurer role. Yvonne Goddard has now stepped down from the role of Honorary Treasurer, and we’d like to extend our sincere thanks for the support she has given during her time in the position. We’re delighted to confirm that Peter Hepburn has been appointed as our new Honorary Treasurer, continuing his commitment to ADCH in this new capacity.
Many ADCH Members and Affiliates will already be familiar with Peter, from his work on the Board and as Chair of our Standards and Animal Welfare Committee, and we’re delighted he has taken on this position. Peter has shared the following update with us:
“I was delighted when ADCH Trustees appointed me as the new Association Treasurer. It is a great honour to play this different role in our Association. I see my ‘new role’ as helping to ensure that ADCH delivers the services needed by Members and Applicants today, while also ensuring that it can continue to do this in the future.
At the 2025 AGM, ADCH Members kindly re-elected me for a further term as a Trustee but, as Treasurer is automatically a Trustee by virtue of the office, I have now released a vacancy which Trustees can fill in the future. I am continuing to Chair the Standards and Animal Welfare Committee but I would rather try to do one job well, rather than two roles half-heartedly. So I have asked Trustees to fish in the fabulous pool of brilliant people in ADCH to find someone new to take over that role. I can guarantee that there are few roles anywhere as exciting and satisfying as guardian of ADCH Standards, and helping applicants meet them and join our Association.
But you might ask, ‘Why did Trustees appoint him?’ Well, one reason is that I have been helping with odd jobs in the finance area over the years. But also, here’s an extract from my CV:
A huge motivation for me is to try to help our fabulous Central Team who do so much for us all, keeping every aspect of our Association running and shining! If I can do that, we’ll all benefit, and so the dogs of cats in the care of our Members will benefit too.”
