ADCH Team Visits Raystede
Last week, the ADCH team had the privilege of visiting Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare in East Sussex, where we had the opportunity to witness firsthand the incredible work they are doing to care for and support animals in need.
Our visit included a tour of their facilities, where we saw a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, ponies, horses, goats, rabbits, birds, and terrapins, all being cared for by Raystede’s dedicated team. It was inspiring to see the exceptional care and attention given to each animal, from rescue to rehabilitation. We also learned about Raystede’s ongoing efforts to improve their facilities, guided by research and continual learning, to ensure the best possible care. Additionally, their focus on educating the public and preventing animal welfare issues before they arise is an important aspect of their work.
A special thank you to Stephanie Smith (CEO), Matt Gough (Head of Animal Welfare), Miriam Dowding (Operations Manager), Gemma Price (Head of Prevention & Education), and Janet Parsons (Head of Marketing) for their warm welcome and for sharing their invaluable insights into the charity’s work.
During the visit, we also had the chance to explore Raystede’s charity shop, which helps fund their essential operations. We are incredibly grateful to the Raystede team for their hospitality and for providing us with the opportunity to learn more about the vital work they do.
A huge thank you to everyone at Raystede for their continued dedication to improving the lives of animals. To find out more about Raystede, please visit their website – www.raystede.org.
