ADCH and AMDO Formalise Collaboration with New Memberships

We are delighted to announce that ADCH become an Associate Member of AMDO – the Association of Microchip Database Operators. In turn, AMDO has joined ADCH as an Affiliate Member, formalising a strong and productive partnership between the two organisations.

ADCH and AMDO have worked increasingly closely in recent years, recognising the importance of accurate, responsible microchipping and data management in animal welfare and rescue. This mutual membership reflects a shared commitment to improving outcomes for animals by promoting best practice in microchip registration, compliance, and traceability.

As the umbrella body for the UK’s major microchip databases, AMDO plays a critical role in ensuring data integrity and supporting the enforcement of microchipping legislation. ADCH is proud to align more closely with AMDO to ensure that rescue centres, rehoming organisations, and local authorities have access to clear guidance and consistent processes.

Together, the organisations hope to tackle key challenges in the sector – from multiple registrations and outdated contact details, to the complexities of microchipping animals cared for under temporary fostering or domestic abuse support schemes.

This collaboration is a positive step forward in ensuring that animals have the best chance of being reunited with their families, or responsibly rehomed, through high standards and strong partnerships.
