After nearly six years in the role, Claire Horton retires as Chair ADCH on Friday 15 January. Peter Hepburn, our current Vice Chair, has kindly agreed to serve as Interim Chair until a new, permanent Chair has been elected.
In accordance with the Constitution, the Trustees now invite applications from individuals interested in standing for election to the position of Chair.
Attached is a Role Description as well as a Person Specification that applicants are likely to meet, plus some general information about ADCH and the commitment required of our Chair
The Chair of ADCH is automatically a Trustee. The Constitution requires one-third of the elected Trustees to retire at each Annual General Meeting and the Association typically has 10 elected Trustees. Therefore, in practice, Trustees (including the Chair) typically serve a term of three years before retiring, with the option to stand for re-election to serve a second term.
HOW TO APPLY
If you would like to stand for election, please email your application to email@example.com to arrive no later than 5pm on Friday 29 January 2021.
Please include a concise CV and a Supporting Statement of no more than 500 words.
Following the deadline, a small Nominations Committee (comprising three Trustees) will review applications against the Person Specification.
The process will be completed by an election, that will be held in accordance with the Constitution, via electronic means and with each ADCH Member holding a single vote. More details on the election will be provided in due course.
It is anticipated that the new Chair will take up their position at the April meeting of the Trustees.
