We’re looking for an Animal Care Assistant to join the team at Birmingham Animal Centre on a full time, permanent basis to provide care for all animals in the centre, establish good customer relations and maintain administration and health and safety procedures.
Birmingham Animal Centre is a purpose built centre with the capacity to house 160 cats, 60 dogs and a unit housing rabbits and other small animals in our care who have been rescued from neglect and cruelty. We have a team of 22 staff supported by over 40 volunteers to provide a safe place to care for the animals.
Our vision is a society where no animal suffers unnecessarily. Some animals that come to us have been mistreated, kept in awful conditions or left without free access to food or water. They may arrive terrified and it’s up to us to try and work out why and bring them round to trusting people again. We do this on a daily basis with a dedicated team that we’re extremely proud of. Completing all relevant animal paperwork and updating the Centres computer data base for all animals held on site
