DESCRIPTION:About this Event\nOur Open Meeting for this quarter is going to be held virtually on Tuesday 11th July at 10:00. We are going to have two interesting sessions which we believe will be relevant to all members\, and would encourage as many of you to join us as possible: \n\nUpdate on microchipping in the UK \nFounder members of the newly formed Association of Microchip Database Operators\, Simon Clark of PETTrac and Phil McKinnon of Chipworks will provide members with an update on the work and aims of the Association\, and what this means for our sector.You will be able to submit questions in advance when you register for the meeting\, and if time allows\, we will also take questions from the floor.\nElectric shock collars banned – what next for training and behaviour? \nWe’ll hold an interactive session to start ADCH’s engagement with members to consider the definition of aversive training and methods. We will look at ways we use to control\, manage and modify the behaviour of the animals in our care. He consults on the behaviour management and training of all animals living under human care (including domestic and wild ones). He is highly sought after for work with high profile private clients\, organisations as well as teaching workshops and presenting at conferences. Chirag has worked with rescue and welfare organisations around the world including working at Dogs Trust for a year. Chirag can be seen on a number of TV shows including on BBC 1’s TV Series Nightmare Pets SOS\, 5 Stars’ Cats and Dogs at War and most recently ITV’s The Pet Show.   \nChirag is passionate about the application of ethical behaviour change science to improve the life of animals living under human care by teaching animals to be active participants in their own daily and veterinary care in a low-stress manner. SUMMARY:September Open Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The September ‘virtual’ Open Meeting provided an update on what the ADCH has been doing; how members have worked through the crisis\, and looked forward to the rest of the year\, and 2021.  We had a Legislative update\, a report on the Annual Return results and a speaker from Petplan informed about the 2021 ADCH & Petplan Awards. \nIn the afternoon\, we split the programme into four ‘Breakout Sessions’ – two covering dog issues\, two covering cats.  In each session a Facilitator invited two or three speakers to give a brief (5-10 mins) overview from the perspective of their organisations and then there was a discussion with attendees.  At the end of the session\, the four groups came back together and the Facilitators provided a top-line summary of their respective group’s discussions. \nEvent Recording\nA recording of the event is available in the Members Only Area.
